Have you ever thought about why you live here? What made you move into this area? Have you always lived here or, are you like me, and made the decision to move into the area from somewhere else? I live in Point Cook because I love this area, we are close to the beach, close to the city, close to regional areas (and we have great friends & neighbours here). Our activities are based here, our community involvement is here. This is where we shop, socialise, engage and involve ourselves, and our clients are here. What we need most urgently is facilities for the kids to play sport. There are some areas of this electorate that are substantially lacking, activity, indoor, aquatic and athletics centres, and venues for specific sports such as soccer, basketball, netball, cricket, tennis and football. I work in the local area, and own a small business that helps small business in our local community to grow, so I have a unique perspective as an employee and and employer, on how to deal with many of the challenges of employment & business. We must meet the challenge of increasing employment in the electorate from the small one person, working from home scenario to the large companies who employ hundreds of people. And we must find a way to encourage the those businesses to produce more value. We have problems with public transport (or lack of) and with the infrastructure for private transport. And we have the problem of where people actually have to travel for their chosen occupation. We want to live in a safe community. We want police visibility on our streets to discourage crime. And we want those police to feel that they are valued and respected. On health, the issues of both the aging population in our established areas, and the of providing a completely different set health of services to our growing baby boom areas. These issues haven't been addressed by our state government. We need action now, not words and political speeches. If you want change, "Vote Local, Vote Liz"
