I decided to become a Candidate in the last Wyndham Council Elections in 2008 because I felt that I could really make a difference in the Community in which I live.

In that election, 2016 people listed me as their first choice as a local councillor. After initally outpolling Glen Goodfellow,  I missed out by 101 votes after preferences, in getting on to council. Many people have since remarked on how well I'd done for my first time campaigning.

I feel that now is the right time for me to step forward again into the fray.  State Government brings more of an opportunity to make a difference in the community than perhaps Local Government does. State Government needs more people who are down to earth and have common sense and I feel that I represent that person.

In the 18 months since the Council Elections I have taken my spare time to spend with my family. Having a very energetic toddler, it is important to me to get that work/life balance correct. I have taken on some advocacy issues and attended some Council Meetings, but mainly I have made sure that I was aware of local issues and been involved where I have been asked to.
