We know what the problems of the electorate are. Why?

Because I am one of the only candidates running in this by-election that actually lives in this electorate.1

None of the candidates of any of the political parties actually lives in the electorate, and is therefore not entitled to vote.

Not only do I live here, but my whole life is based on the area.  My child will be going to school here, are friends live here, our activities are based here, our community involvement is here. This is where we shop, socialise, engage and involve ourselves. We pay are rates to one of the same local councils as you, and we buy our goods and services from local businesses.

This is where we run our small business, and this is the area that our clients live and work.

So we have a unique perspective on the area, that no other candidate can offer.

A little bit more information that may assist you in your decision on Election Day. I have:-

  • lived in The Boardwalk in Point Cook since 2001. I built my first home here.
  • a career in the Medical industry, and am a qualified Registered Nurse and Midwife.
  • a two and half year old daughter, Grace, and 3 older stepchildren.
  • a Small Business which my husband, Dan, and I run from home.
  • a Graduate Diploma in Business Mangement from Swinburne University.
  • been founding member of the first Neighbourhood Watch in Point Cook.
  • run as an Independent Candidate at the last Wyndham Council election 18 months ago.
  • been involved involved in advocacy in the Point Cook and Seabrook area, as a committee member of the Point Cook Residents' Association since 2003.

1 Note: Since originally writing this article, we've been informed that some of the other independant candidates also live in the electorate, although they weren't listed in the the 2009/10 Residential White Pages.
