Is Hobson's Bay Council seeking to influence the result of the election?

Is Hobsons' Bay City Council seeking to 'endorse' the former local member Lynne Kosky, thereby giving its 'stamp of approval' to the Labour party in this by-election?

According to the Deputy Mayor of Hobsons's Bay's website, a motion was raised at their 2nd Feb meeting to "thank Lynne Kosky for Outstanding Service".

Broadband access continues to be an issue within Point Cook. Not enough action has been taken to resolve this issue with the major provider. With so many Small Business and Families within Point Cook, it is an essential service in todays society and it has been neglected. In roads have been made in this area, but the follow up has not occurred in a timely manner. It is essentail that Council puts more pressure on the Suppliers and Governments to ensure every resident in Point Cook has access to this basic service.
