Is Hobsons' Bay City Council seeking to 'endorse' the former local member Lynne Kosky, thereby giving its 'stamp of approval' to the Labour party in this by-election? According to the Deputy Mayor of Hobsons's Bay's website, a motion was raised at their 2nd Feb meeting to "thank Lynne Kosky for Outstanding Service". |

I agree with the comments about the need to keep Werribee Racecourse open, as it provides entertainment, employment, and tourism for the City of Wyndham. What has been missed is that Werribee Racecourse is also a great venue for the Werribee Craft Market which supports a great many small businesses and is in itself part of the flavour of our diverse City. We have no shortage of land in the City of Wyndham for new housing estates and the State Government has already allocated money to Racing Victoria to support horse racing in Victoria, so I see no valid reason why the racecourse should be closed. As a Council we should be seeking written assurances that the racecourse will not be closed, as well as securing the funding to ensure the future of the Racecourse. |
