Why don't we have enough Sports Grounds in our area when they have been planned for for years but never delivered on?

Let me be frank. In the 1998-2002 Wyndham Community Plan (with full and complete knowledge of the impending growth in population) Wyndham planned for 8 sporting grounds to be operational in Point Cook by 2003. Do you know how many were delivered upon by 2008?  NONE.

We have few facilities in Point Cook that cater for young and old alike.

Wyndham Council should have resolved this issue as the Estates in Point Cook were being developed, yet their initial plans never been acted upon. The Community is now left with having to wait while suitable facilities are developed. This means that our children are either being turned away from sporting clubs that have no facilities, or that they in the meantime travel to other suburbs to be involved in their chosen sport.

We now have one Sports Ground on the agenda, this needs to be fast tracked and further opportunities for sports facilities need to be identified and approved to cope with the growth of our Community in Point Cook.

If this is true of point Cook, then its probable likely in other developing parts of Wyndham also.
