Is Hobson's Bay Council seeking to influence the result of the election?

Is Hobsons' Bay City Council seeking to 'endorse' the former local member Lynne Kosky, thereby giving its 'stamp of approval' to the Labour party in this by-election?

According to the Deputy Mayor of Hobsons's Bay's website, a motion was raised at their 2nd Feb meeting to "thank Lynne Kosky for Outstanding Service".

More needs to be done to look after our local environment. Whether it be replacing a mature tree on a nature strip with a suitable replacement, in a timely manner, or discussing with environmental and government groups how to better look after an entire ecosystem, such as Skelelton Creek. Council needs to take a more collaborative approach with local Residents' and listen to what their needs are and then act upon them in the best interests of the Community.
